READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF HERE WE GO AND HERE WE ARE: So when I get in my van and I'm with other people, before I start driving, I usually say, "Here we go." It's kind of this weird little English phrase that we say when we are driving a vehicle. By the way, if you watched my bigger video on my other YouTube channel, you already learned this phrase today. Sorry about that, but if you wanna learn more phrases using the words here and there, you should go and search for Bob the Canadian, here and there, and you'll find a really big video about it, but back to the topic at hand. Sometimes when I get in the van, I put my seatbelt on, and before I start driving, I will say to Jen and the kids, "Here we go", basically saying I'm about to start driving. So when you say, "Here we go" in English, you're basically just communicating to all the people who are in the vehicle that you are about to start driving. So if I say, "Here we go," and if you are in a vehicle with me, I hope that you would have your seatbelt on, and you would get ready for the vehicle to start moving. So here we go.
And when I get to the place where I'm going, then I usually say, "Here we are." So if we are leaving in the vehicle, I say, "Here we go" when we start driving, and when we drive into the place where we are going or when we arrive at the place where we are going, I will say to Jen and the kids, "Here we are," basically letting them know that we have arrived at the place that we were going to. Usually at this point, the kids put down their phones and their little gaming devices and realize that we've been driving for a little while and we've finally arrived at our destination. So when I start driving, I say, "Here we go," and when we get to where we're going, I say, "Here we are." Anyways, Bob the Canadian here. Again, if you want to learn more about the words here and there, and all the phrases that we use with them, well not all the phrases, but some of them, search for Bob the Canadian here and there on YouTube and you'll find a much bigger video, and a much longer lesson. Have a good day.
